practice: The habit of repeating an activity for the purpose of improving or maintaining one’s proficiency and mastery.

The Pilates Practice specializes in Classical Pilates, a method of Pilates developed in the early 1900s by Joseph Pilates. This form of practice stays true to the original teachings and methods of Joseph Pilates, and is proven to transform the body and athletic ability of its practitioners.

One hallmark of the Classical Method is its commitment to a consistency of practice, student education, and ultimately the results that can be quickly seen and felt in the body. A consistent practice increases physical fitness and facilitates a greater ease of movement for all bodies, from beginner to expert. Pilates can complement any exercise training method and help improve results.

Fiona Wendorf, Owner & M.A.T Certified Pilates Instructor

Hi I’m Fiona. I believe in living a healthy and balanced life, full of energy, encouragement, laughter and fun.  I bring all of this, plus precise attention to proper alignment, to my Pilates teaching.  I believe Pilates should be accessible to all bodies, all people.  I am passionate about challenging my clients to set and achieve their goals, and find confidence in their bodies and selves through their Pilates practice. I encourage clients to incorporate Pilates into their daily lives, in addition to the work they do in the studio with me.

Growing up in rural Northern California, has instilled in me a great love of movement, physical activity, and the outdoors. I was first introduced to Pilates while pursuing a B.A. in Dance from Mills College in Oakland, California, where I trained in Modern Dance and Graham Technique. I quickly realized the strength, stability and energy Pilates brought to both my dance practice and to my everyday life. It wasn’t until several years later that I discovered the Classical Method of Pilates, and really fell in love. In 2013, I certified under Master Teacher Dorothee VandeWalle, of Metropolitan Pilates Seattle and Martt Lawrence of the Pilates Center of San Francisco, after completing an intensive 700+ hour, 2 year apprentice program. I maintain my commitment to the Pilates profession with continuing education and constant learning from my peers and the community around me.
